Jwalker started playing music when he was 9 years old. His father was a local Church Pastor and started bringing musical equipment home for his two son's to play. First it was guitar then after 6 months he was introduced to the bass guitar. 1 year later his father brought home the grand prize, a 61 key Fender Rhodes Piano. Using his knowledge of chord changes and bass-lines he began playing the rhodes with great skill. In his 1st year of practicing, J was blessed every weekend with love offerings at 2 churches playing keys.

J Later moved to Texas where he met up with Oliver Scott, where he introduced J to recording. Honing his skills with Oliver, J shortly became general manager of Honey Bee Recording Studio, Houston, Tx. J played and produced on a number of independent CDs, including “Sound Doctrine”, “Dr. Carson and the Voices of Praise”, “Terry Jenkins Project”, “Triune Clique”, and the “The Susan Arbuckle Project”. J currently serves as the Assistant Minister of Music at the One Way Church in Round Rock, Tx, does freelance work at Lava Studios and plays keys and runs sound for a few local bands here in Austin, Tx. Jwalker's first Single "Walk with Me" has managed to catch the anointing in mama's cooking oil can and spread it judiciously all over our pre-conceived notions of what a gospel album should sound like. He boldly enters the realm of Gospel Funkateers gone before him and left a giant funky footprint for others to follow. If the Arch Angel Gabriel had gotten hold of a talk box and some classic synth patches, he might approach the precision, sinewy, syrupy, sassy playing that Jwalker manages to pull off with without being sensual or overly secular. Rarely do casual listeners, seasoned musicians, and veteran church folk get the blessed opportunity to agree and sit at the grease stained alter of the best gospel funk since the yester-years of the 80s Detroit takeover from the likes of the Clarks Sisters, The Winans family and Commissioned.

Jwalker's new album "It's Gonna Be Alright" now available in iTunes and all major digital download and streaming services.
