What a blessing! The AGQC, Inc. Seattle Chapter and Artistic Creations NW hosted their 4th Annual celebration at The Upper Room COGIC (Pastor Ruth Easter) in Seattle, Washington on September 10 – 11, 2010. This year’s theme was “The Birthing – A Time to be Born” Ecclesiastes 3:2.

On Friday night Artistic Creation NW presented “Youth Night”. Praise dancers ministered in song showcasing their creative abilities and talents, lifting and praising the name of Jesus through dance! Time was set aside for testimony service from young adults in attendance - what an experience for all as their shared how God favors them and how they continue to press towards the mark (very moving)! It is evident that God is using the ARTS as a forefront for ministry, especially here in Seattle!

On Saturday morning there was a breakfast workshop at the Courtyard Marriott Hotel. Attendees participated in a round table discussions that included the following topics: the history of Seattle quartet and radio announcing (Reverend Frank Walton) and abstanace (Minister Ella Byrne), the history of the AGQC, Inc.

That Saturday night there was a musical celebration and Hall of Fame night! The presence of the Lord was truly in that place. Musical selections from Sister Nanou Bamungwa, The Electrifying Mighty Warriors, The Fantastic Gospelaires, by world renown flutist Klaus Liebetanz, Christian rap artist Blaze and others.

Mother Carolyn Stearns and The Gospel Echoes were inducted into the Hall of Fame and Pastor Ruth Easter received the Ollie Taylor award on behalf of her husband, the late Pastor Kelly Easter.

What a Holy Ghost good time!

Continue to keep us in your prayers as we endeaver to do the work of the Lord....Pastor RJ & Sister Candace Rivers

The purpose of the American Gospel Quartet Convention is to re-establish Jesus as the foundation of our music. We further want to return to living what we sing about. Next, we want to learn more about the business of music and finally, we want to promote wholesome fellowship. The American Gospel Quartet Convention's purpose remains intact as attendance has grown from serving several hundred in 1993, over five thousand in 1997 and 1999.

The mission, as the Lord directed, is to call the gospel quarteters back to our foundation - Jesus Christ. In doing so, twenty conventioneers have been saved and/or baptized during the convention. We have also created a learning environment for quarteters interested in learning about the ins and outs of the music business. From this environment, much beneficial information has come forth, enhancing the careers of the attendees. And finally, the wholesome fellowship of The American Gospel Quartet Convention has been responsible for providing an opportunity for hundreds of lifelong relationships to be formed.

Through the unselfish support of The Advisory Board, Record Labels, Promoters, Announcers, Managers and The Gospel Quarteters and their supporters, The American Gospel Quartet Convention is making a tremendous impact on the quartet field. We have come a long way, but the wonderful journey will continue until every quarteter is on board.
